The Rio Grande-Nueces RC&D Area is comprised of Dimmit, Edwards, Kinney, La Salle, Maverick, Real, Uvalde, Val Verde, and Zavala Counties. The Rio Grande-Nueces RC&D Area office is located in Uvalde, Texas.
The Rio Grande-Nueces RC&D Area, Inc. was authorized in January of 2002 by USDA Secretary Anne M. Veneman. Prior to this, the council operated as an unauthorized RC&D Area. The Council was organized in 1993 and received its 501c3 IRS determination that same year. The Council has been successful in securing several grants that have benefited our communities prior to our authorization, even though we operated without a full-time RC&D Coordinator from 1993 until July of 2002.
